NPFL Roundup: Plateau Utd, Wikki Tourists Maintain 100% Form, Lobi Thrash Delta Force As Nasarawa Utd, Jigawa GS Yet To Secure A Point

Plateau United and Wikki Tourists maintained their hundred percent form after recording two wins from two 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

After winning their first match at home last weekend, Plateau United defeated Jigawa Golden Stars 1-0 to maintain their number one position on the log. Wikki Tourists form may surprise many NPFL followers as the team also secured a shocking away win at Nasarawa United.

Meanwhile, match-day 2 losers at home, Nasarawa United and Jigawa Golden Stars are yet to get a point this season.

Enugu Rangers, FC Ifeanyiubah, Warri Wolves, Heartland and Enyimba all got a draw on their travels on Sunday.

Nenrot Silas was the match winner for Plateau United after 34 minutes, while Wikki Tourists had to wait till the 80th minute to win at Nasarawa United courtesy of an 80th minute effort by Sixtus Forsah.

Katsina United raced into a third minute lead through a penalty converted by last season’s leading scorer Tasiu Lawal, before Enyimba fought back to draw 1-1 with former Katsina United striker Martins Usule grabbing his third goal in as many games.

The biggest winners on the day were Lobi Stars, who thrashed Delta Force 4-0 with striker Sikiru Alimi among the goals.
